Wine with this dish: PLUMS IN RED WINE & BASIL WITH CREAMY RICE PUDDING

Posted by Paul Heathcote on October 21, 2007 10:34 PM |

FOR those old enough, forget the oceans of Liebrfraumilch that flooded the ’70s and ’80s, the Germans actually do make fantastic wine. This Saint Johanner Abtey Kerner Spatlese 2004, made from late harvested Kerner grapes, is delicately sweet with a soft, crisp floral finish which works perfectly with fruit based desserts. Priced £6.95 from The Purple Wine Company, tel: 0151 239 5025 or e-mail: wine@purplewine.co.uk
